This was released about an hour ago.

Not sure of legitimacy but seems real and I wouldn't doubt it since 1.0 was rushed (due to leak). Not sure why he didn't patch in my syscalls in 1.1 ...

Take your vita's offline or backup your account and use a dummy account for now if you are testing backups. Sony may ban-hammer within the coming weeks/months to those that played online. I really hope release groups release better dumps in the future that are somehow more stealthier than this stuff or someone manages to push a good CFW.

Where are you KmeaW ?!!?!!?!??!?!?!?!

Namely all dumps are considered "broken" because some don't boot properly, freeze, etc.

The early versions of vitamin were rushed and, sadly, not well put together. The leak, v1.0, and v1.1 contained some bug or other that might have led to certain files not dumping correctly or may not have been able to read certain files or cart partitions resulting in those lockups, errors, etc.

I made mention of this on other sites when everyone got into a dumping craze right after the leak happened (I was told to "stop crying"), that numerous dumps were non functioning for a number of reasons.

I hope no one gets banned due to the faulty dumps (seems very unlikely), but that's the risk you take for using untested software.

Edited to correct alleged "FUD", however my stance remains the same: many early version vitamin dumps are"broken".

We need groups to start dumping this stuff... not 14 year olds in their parents office.

Imagine hundreds of vita's hitting craigslist after psn ban.

It's not so much an issue of people dumping their own stuff but rather an issue with the alpha version software that was leaked and the ensuing mass chaos of the scene wetting it's collective pants in anticipation.

TheFloW has already made it clear on his twitter that early versions of vitamin had a low compatibility percentage, roughly 40%. The new version is said to have massive compatibility increases.

Either way the easiest way to avoid a ban is to not use exploits and homebrew. Take the risks or play it safe? The choice is up to users...

can someone confirm this? about savedata corruption for ALL games dumped by VITAMIN?
my PS nova failed to save one time, but restarting the game fixed this. That's all so far. I've already dive quite deep, so I think I'll finish this game at least, just backuped my saves in case of emergency.

I have heard of and seen reports on Reddit. Haven't personally experienced it yet, but then again I only used a personally dumped copy of my Bullet Girls cart. I will wait for flow to release v1.2 before I dump/install others and I highly advise others to do the same.

No one can confirm there will be data corrup on ALL games because... No one has dumped and played ALL games till the end...

Some people have already finished some games from beginning to end from dumped copies so I'm going to go ahead and say NO, not ALL games will get corrupted.

This is very true, however there are conflicting reports about games that are working and those that aren't. My thought process on this is simple really: the dumping tool was buggy and caused some dumps to be made incorrectly, resulting in errors for some users while others reported success.

I had read somewhere that the early versions vitamin (leak through v1.1) only incorporated 5 of the vita's syscall functions when rebuilding the decrypted eboot into a static self. The newest, yet to be released version, supposedly incorporates an additional 284 syscalls as well as optional vpk compression and fios2 wrapper support...

So again I won't argue the validity of these "fully tested working dumps" to be playable from start to finish but with all of these problems that are surfacing from early dumps one has to start considering that even "working" could be considered "broken"if it came from an early build of vitamin...

Maybe it's a scare tactic to stop people from dumping and installing back ups.

I doubt this very much. Now on the other hand the "buy the full game" messages some were getting on titles like Rayman definitely seem to be anti-piracy in nature. It just seems like the full anti-piracy agent didn't kick in due to the subtle modifications made to the eboots...

Lol yeah I did but I saw it in one of the other posts on this forum earlier. I'm so out of it right now with the flu that I should probably be asleep right now :P

EDIT: found it. I saw it originally in the vitamin compatibility thread. Page 15

I think it's more that they discovered a flaw with the app and don't want any blame IF mass save corruption does happen.
Not that it's guaranteed to happen.
It would depend on the game (in other words, what syscalls that game uses) but if you've played through most of a game without any issues chances are you won't have any in the future. It's not like games suddenly get a mind of their own and decide to make random syscalls and corrupt your save if the result isn't what they expect.
It wouldn't make much sense if that happened.

Risk currently...
*Ban from PSN (console ban generally)
*Possible Save Corruption and Either Losing Save Completely or Having To Revert
*Save Backed Up possibly not compatible with Vitamin 1.2 dump

It's up to you to weigh in ... I would just keep the console offline(no PSN account tied to console) until proper CFW ... Vita is a portable 1 player console dream and plus I'm more excited for the Moonlight stuff.

The FloW ... wtf is the release already ...

i dont know why tv manufactures put the hdmi ports in dumb locations so the cables have to stick out, and then down, putting strain on the ports. Instead of having the ports along the bottom edge of the tv facing downwards.
