Valgreen said:
loader channels do not work for me...wii just restarts..installed via this pack...

gonna give us any actual info...like:

-system update version (if your missing some common IOS that made appearances once they hit 3.xxx....you could have some problemts.)
-region
-have a chip?
-have usb/gc devices plugged in
-don't have sd card in slot...

these restarting the wii is about impossible.....theres about 2-3 crappy things they'd do aside from "Restart" the wii if you followed the instructions.

-updated system from 3.0U to 3.2U then to 3.3U
-by U its AMERICAN
-NO drive chip, why would i need a loader if i had one
-NO usb or GC devices plugged in
-tried without SD card in slot

followed your directions to the T.. and when i try and start the channels the wii restarts

i used cios downgrader to upgrade frmo 3.0-3.2-3.3U (tried channels on 3.2 but they did the same thing, that is why i then tried to go to 3.3 to see if they would then work)

have tried re-installing cios36 rev 7 (waninkoko's), still nothing..
tried going through and installing 1-8 of the wad's in your pack, still nothing..

loaders work via HBC (downloaded not from your pack)..

also wad manager 1.3 channel does the same thing

...and your instructions are not exactly hard to follow, i dont think a chimp could mess them up so please dont assume im an idiot and didnt follow the 3 steps...

sure, but what does it matter if 3.2 did the same thing, thats why i upgrade to 3.3 to see if they would work, i can always go back to 3.2...

i repeat, these same issues occured on 3.2...

I don't assume anything....your first comment just basically said, "these restart the wii."
I definitely want to help, but without more info, that allows me to be no help....now that I have more info I have something to work with.

-ok, you will need the sd card in for at least 2 of the packaged channels.
-using cIOS downgrader that much makes me think it is the problem....try this:

use AnyRegion Changer 1.1, to get on 3.2 and then use IOS (not cIOS) Downgrader 1.0.

that will put you on what I like to call, "True 3.2"....there are ways, using all these different apps...where you end up on like "half-breed" versions of the different System Update Variations, and you don't end up with accurate results....

also, when you installed the wads...did you use my wad managers? or your own you already had....I try to use 1.21 or 1.1 whenver I get problems, and always install them FROM the SD, not from USB.

it sounds like, if these don't work, then the homebrew channel shouldnt work for you either...
let me know if this is true.

thanks, hope this solves your problems...there is NO reason why these should "restart" the wii...

restarting comes from one of two things:
-missing an IOS, which would be strange
-(sometimes) trying to run an "out-of-region" channel, but these are region free.

while you're at it, see if you can run Anytitle Deleter 1.0,
and check your system files in there, and tell me which IOS it lists you having before or after the pack install, doesn't matter.

PS: I definitely think the problem might be that you never got the IOS you needed by using cIOS downgrader, so try ARC 1.1 followed by IOS DGrader first...
it's likely you're missing an IOS in the 30's, and doing that will get you all the ones you might need with the trucha bug implanted as well

get back to me if anytitle deleter doesnt show 35-37...

Mine is modded. I never thought that a softmod was even unheard of. Are any of these so-called launchers necessary? Also, I want to update to 3.4 for the faster transfer speeds on the SD cards, but don't the redlines that are in it (auto-update). However, looks like I may have no choice, and may go this route anyways. Looks like a nice package, and wads can still be installed, despite everyone saying it can't.

I have a simmilar problem as Valgreen with the Wii restarting when ever I try to start an installed channel from the main menu. I have 3.2E and Homebrew channel (that works) installed. Tried installing backup launcher and a couple of PAL wad's as channels but all of them when launched from the main menu restarts the wii.

I have installed several different cIOS but nothing seems to help. Does any one have a clue why this is happening? I have searched everywhere but can not find an answer.

- Europe Region
- No chip
- No usb/gc devices plugged in
- Have SD card in slot
- Checked with Anytitle Deleter 1.0 and I have the following IOS installed:
IOS248, IOS249, IOS247, IOS36, IOS51, IOS31, IOS21, IOS20, IOS17, IOS30, IOS13, IOS12, IOS11, IOS15, IOS9, IOS4

I do not have IOS35 & IOS37 as noobwarrior7 mentioned. Should Iget them? And if so where?

First I thought it was because I was running 3.0E so I upgraded to 3.2E with anyRegion Changer but this did not help. I have installed Wii Shop and IOS51 but this did not help. I have run IOS downgrader but still nothing. Any ideas any one? Please can someone help me with this?? Thanks!!!

can anyone help a newbie
European wii , 3.3E, not chipped

got zelda

installed twighlight hack beta 1
used this to install homebrew channel

then copied the contents of this pack onto sd card, overwriting the homebrew channel file on the sd card but i guess thats okay. Also wad manager 1.3, cant remember if this was on the card or if i got it elsewhere. I also stuck a wad sicksteen.wad in the wad folder from when i downloaded some wads and thats the only one that i could open without a password.

so

if i go into the homebrew channel, nothing happens. it opens and theres water with bubbles but nowt else til i quit.

if i use twightlight hack, it loads wad manager 1.3

menu comes up
available files on the device

i can see 8 numbered wad files plus an unnumbered sicksteen.wad

if i try to install any of the numbered wads i get

loading okay
installing wad error! (ret=-2011)
press any button

tried them all

if i install sicksteen.wad it installs okay, but ive no idea where to find it now..

Sorry if i sound really thick, any help appreciated

what's the difference between ios and cios downgrader?

"IOS Downgrader" uses a cIOS @ 249 to downgrade ALL regular IOS...it came out after the "3.3v2" update....to reverse it's effects
"cIOS Downgrader" uses a cIOS @ 249 to Install any System Menu, and that System Menu's IOS, but really nothing else....and is not as useful after "3.3v2" came out.

use WiiScrubber to extract the wads for them from the "Update Partition" of a not-too-new disc image...the older the better really...try "Mario Kart Wii" or something around that time frame. nothing as new as "Wii Music"...after you obtain them you can install them with wad manager (any version)

after you install sicksteen.wad (which should install without any errors (good job finding it by the way))...power your wii off,
put your sd card back in your computer, and switch the filenames of the two files "boot.dol" and "boot.mod"
so the one originally called boot.mod is not boot.dol...

then all your installs should proceed error free.

3 questions answered in one post, hope that clears up a few things.

did you even read my reply....you have to install sicksteen first, then switch wad-managers. if you get errors installing sicksteen, you have a bad SD card.

Actually I've had no trouble running the backup loaders even with a modded wii. (had to test to make sure they work since I have some relatives Wii's to install backup loaders on). They all work perfectly fine for me on 3.2. I'm glad I never update my Wii. Even though 3.4 is tempting with faster SD read speeds. (Then again cios and homebrew allow sdhc and usb flash drives, come on Nintendo add that to an official release and I may have to update.) Keep up the great work noobwarrior.

Ok, new question:
What IOS needs to be installed to run the Opera Internet Channel and Lost Winds (PAL)? I get a restart of the Wii when I try to start those.
All the other wads/channels that I have installed works fine now though.
