thanks for the tip, don't forget though, some people use more than just one wifi connection (ssid), so in a case like me, id have to type in all of those numbers about 8 times to cover all the places i used the switch online in.

so i just do two options (airplane mode on and disable internet), and bam, updates avoided.

When CFW releases we will probably only need the browser once for install, seemshow atmosphere is releasing with fusee gelee coldboot exploit. So again not really necessary right now, and only useful once when the time comes unless you are on 3.0.0 right now for homebrew.
And the Switch doesn't auto-update anyway. It's not really hard to avoid pressing update on the notification.

You won't really need to block updates with fusee gelee and emuNAND. It will coldboot into emuNAND and from there you will be safe to update. At worst you accidentally update which breaks the cfw and you'll need to wait for atmosphere to update as well.

True. Even with warm boot that wouldn't be an issue, since the update notification doesn't appear immediately after powering on. It seems to take a good few minutes before it actually starts appearing.

Alternatively...

Changing the DNS is unnecessary, just put it in airplane mode.
But airplane mode is disabled automatically when you put it in the dock, and of course you forget about those things...
You may also forget to disable Wi-Fi or set up the DNS.

Alternatively, open the console and rip away the Wi-Fi antenna.

Last I checked (on 4.1.0), having airplane mode disabled BEFORE you put it in the dock works just fine. You can turn it off, but you can't turn it back on unless you take it back out.
