it should. dumping and creating a pkg is different, but all ps4 fake pkgs use a passcode of all 0s.

I haven't played any games on my system, just dumped or learned some things. however, it's possible it could crash from what I understand, but it's not likely especially on 7.xx.

Crashes are inherent from the exploit itself.

The exploit is triggered, the PS4 tries shut it down (hypervisor), the exploit races (RCE) to beat the shutdown. If it works: great. If it’s close: kernel panic. If it fails or PS4 catches up: kernel panic. That’s 1/3 = good aka 33% chance. 5.05 is most stable and has least issues. I think Sony altered the software to combat 1.76-5.05 style sploits. After 5.05 things become messy in terms of stability.

from what I understand, there are more challenges the higher up in firmware you go. however, a lot of hackers on the ps4 has said the ps4's security is actually worse than what a lot of people think.

Everything you can do on a KEX firmware you can do on the latest KEX firmware.

ps2 games have lots of problems though. a lot require config or lua config type files just like the ps3. plus, you have to determine which emulator is better for the game. the two best that I know of are the jak emulator from jak and daxter and rogue galaxy.

    There's a compatibility list here.
    https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps4/PS2_Classics_Emulator_Compatibility_List

I have Persona 3/4 working. Bully locks up as soon as the game starts. This is using the ps2classicgui app.

btw kernal panics on 7.02 only occur when something is plugged into the left hand usb port. I have my external drive in the right hand port all the time and it never kp's.

    Quick question, maybe daft...

Why doesn't psn spoofing work, and why won't it ever work?

The vita spoofs easy enough, shop, trophy access.

possibly due to the passphrase. the ps3 uses a passphrase system to prevent older than a certain firmware to access psn. once sony realized we could just get the passphrase after they fucked up the security, they stopped updating it. the vita, they don't care about, so why bother?

So Ive had a problem since summer where I can't delete games on my internal nor see them in storage but I can see them on the main menu and play them but there's no delete button. I know there's a way to delete the files of the game through ftp but is there a way to remove the icon off the main menu?

This is one of the side effects of using the database rebuilder script.

A way to fix it is to use FTP and edit your /system_data/priv/mms/app.db file with https://sqlitebrowser.org/dl/
Go to the 'Browse Data' tab, open the 'tbl_appbrowse_xxxxxx' table and change the 'canRemove' from 0 to 1 for the affected games.
As soon as you have uploaded the edited app.db file shutdown your PS4 straight away.

I think you can also delete games using the ToDex payload too which might be easier.

A video has surfaced of a user seemingly installing PKG games from USB and burnt discs without the use of debug settings.

According to resident expert Zecoxao they’re harnessing the magical powers of system executable NPXS21005 DAEMON_IDU to install PKGs, in a similar way to how OMSK downloads pkgs to DEMO or IDU mode consoles.

    https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps4/Productcode

It should be noted this should be able to work on any firmware, however actually playing the games will still require a firmware that has been fully exploited.

It is unknown if it’s possible to use debug pkgs or unsigned content. I will update this thread if or when we find out :)

I wonder if this is related to 0cto's exploits. they're related to the bd drive. apparently, all ps2s, ps3s, and ps4s are vulnerable (probably not ps5). I don't know the specifics of it, but he got $40,000 for it on hackerone.

Nah this doesn’t exploit anything. Appears to just facilitate a debug function (pkg installer) without the debug menu actually showing.
