EDIT: Process is pretty obnoxious. It asks for my Windows LIVE ID, then tells me it's wrong, and wants it in email format, meaning the box labled Windows LIVE ID doesn't actually want your ID. Then it said I needed to head to Xbox.com and accept some new ToS agreement. Then had to go back to the first site and enter all my info, only for it to tell me my cart is empty (it wasn't). If it weren't a dime, I'd probably have said to hell with it.

EDIT2: Also wish I would have been informed beforehand that I'd need to install their wanna-be Steam client just to download it. If it turns out I NEED to keep it, and can't launch the game from Steam, then I just wasted a whole dime on a game I'll never bother playing.

I did mention I hadn't had great experiences with the service

On a more serious note, when I bought and installed Borderlands from GFWL, I never needed to use the client again. It installed as a retail game, so I launch it like normal and used the retail patch to patch it. In fact, I didn't even install it through the Marketplace; the download was just a compressed version of the retail install. The product key will not work on Steam, but you can always add it as a non-Steam game.

Same here. Very annoying, I don't think I'll use this instead of Steam any time soon.

Check previous page, you just have to click on a button on the Marketplace to get the key.
