nope. This is why SaveDataFiler exists. Keep backups of your save files, because anything can go wrong, CIA or not.
The biggest issue with GW is the card can overheat and freeze randomly, causing you to lose tons of game progress and can even corrupt game save data if it freezes while you are writing the save data to SD.nope.
Gateway is storing .sav files in the root of SD, with very clear names. I'm making backups every week. It takes... well, 3 seconds and it works with all gateway powered systems. SDF is problematic and totally uncomfortable in use. And if you replace system (because - for example you previous will broke), you are just f*ked up. Cias are good if you don't have a gateway card, but if you have... I don't see any reason for torturing myself with cias.
PS, I have 100% boot rate with menuhack and gateway. Well, sometimes menuhack is hanging on yellow screen (~1/20 times), but...
Is the gateway 3ds red card you are using a launch model version? I got mine around the time gateway ultra 3.0 firmware came out for it and i don't have any overheating issues. Might be a issue with older cards maybe. The biggest issue with GW is the card can overheat and freeze randomly, causing you to lose tons of game progress and can even corrupt game save data if it freezes while you are writing the save data to SD.
Which is why I only play RPGs in CIA mode, and play games that don't require too much grinding in GW. GW is very unstable, and can lock up at will, but its very convenient. You can't have it all.

Yes hitting home then close can cause it to freeze. Also closing the lid while you are in the middle of a game that requires lots of system resources. I.E Battles in Persona, ,etc.I bought mine a few weeks after it released, never overheated for me. It did freeze maybe 2 times though, but only when you hit Home then Close.
Now I just use Luma and CIAs.
but you can use the dstwo for play DS games..
(or the gaybait blue waffle card)
the thing is people have to be in 9.2 to use gateway which is the system version to use a damn cfw! that's just ridiculous, as they didn't even had to paid , it's just ignoranceGay bait.
Proven to attract gayboys at anytime!
CFW pretty much obliterated Gateway/Sky3DS.
The flashcards are pretty much targeted at people who got no clue about CFW or are far to scared to downgrade.
You know, the pirates with some money.
I wouldn't say that, cause being able to drop and play any game without the process of unscrewing your N3DS back cover, putting it into a PC putting on the CIAs and installing it, and if you are not using SOON2, you need to delete the CIA again.Gay bait.

I just have it lying somewhere.
Not planning on using it anymore, and I don't think anyone would be willing to buy it. And it makes sense.
We had a good run though, can't complain.

(and still they claim it's better)

The N3DS backcover is very fragile, my XL screw is already damaged from too many screws.
I see no reason why you would get rid of Sky or GW card just cause of CFW, the ability to drag and drop any game and play right away is very useful to both noobs and oldschool guys like us.
WOW, that same old argument is used SO MANY times for flashcard fanboys !I wouldn't say that, cause being able to drop and play any game without the process of unscrewing your N3DS back cover, putting it into a PC putting on the CIAs and installing it, and if you are not using SOON2, you need to delete the CIA again.

FTP programs exist.
Granted, their slower then taking out the MSD.
Also, aren't there replacement backplates?
it defeats the purpose of stealing having to pay for an outdated tool made by a team that doesn't give a shit about their customersYou wanna move 4GB game at 300kb per second go ahead.
Backplates cost $$$$ defeats the purpose of stealing games to begin with.
