The latest changes in the german copyright law affective on 01.01.2008 forces me to close this website. I thank you all for the support during the last years and I wish you all the best for the future.

With best regards

Mygalo"

This sucks because I used it to check PSP releases.

never heard of but what was changed in german law anyway?

I don't know. But to the best of my knowledge, all advace-power did was provide release info (much like GBATemp). How that could be made illegal, if this is the case, by grabass-whoring-shitstain-paid for politicians is a testament of unchecked corporate power in most of the developed world.

Damn, they were a nice release site (they had good info: crcs, saves etc) and a fair collection of dats.

Those German laws do seem almost as well worded as the Greek ones that killed computer games (they were aimed at gambling) a couple of years back.

I wish Mygalo and co all the best in their future endeavours, it will probably be the usual fly under the radar and return with a different guise but all the same.

Unofficially all internet/telephone/Mobile traffic is logged for a long time in Belgium.
It's just not legal at this point in a court of law (but things will change for sure to make it legal) for a few exceptions made
like: in cases of childporn and act of terrorism, in that case it can be used legally

(That's what 2 judges i know told me unofficially)

I don't know that site, but the changes at our right-system are horrible...
1. Everithink will be logged by the providers... [Because of terror... But I think it will not take much time that the material will be used for other thinks too]
2. Some changes in the copyright system.
Now we only are allowed to download thinks which are 'allowed'(?) by the owner...

Dunno how that affects that site~..

This is horrible news, Mygalo is and has been a close friend of mine and of GBAtemps for years. He and his site have contributed loads to all scenes, originally the GBA scene and then onwards to what the site was before this happened.
I wonder if he can use a host outside of Germany, and therefore bypass the law altogether, seems weird to close the site because of a GERMAN law.
Much like dg***, they are based in Israel and therefore practically untouchable... just lose the .de and become AP.com or something..
For those who don't know, www.ludibria.com is a good source for multi platform release infos.

Thanks for that, and please send him our regards if you talk regularly.

What I don't understand is the German now law logs communication, does anyone know how that relates to nfos/dats/release info? I don't understand why he had to shut down since he wasn't providing anything but information.
