I get adds on this site even though its not supposed to have adds. Why?

Pretty sure that the adverts are only there for guests, in order to get some revenue for server costs.

Most likely you were just not logged in when you saw the ads. However, all users still see the "Recommended Sites" section on the right of the front page that displays the logos of a few flash cart shops.
