Hardware Adding Partition 2 to an Xbox 360 hard drive

I really want to play original Xbox games on my 360, but it's not cooperating. I've tried connecting the hard drive to my computer with a SATA to USB cable, but the computer won't recognize it and Xplorer 360 Extreme can't access it. What can I do? Would it make a difference if I connected the drive directly to a SATA cable inside my PC? Or is the drive just not readable on a PC until I format it? I'd appreciate any help you could provide.

If you format your HDD in your PC you'll have to reinject the security sector.
DO NOT FORMAT IT!

What type of harddrive is it? 20/60/120/250/320/500 GB?
