How do you add a single background wallpaper to retroarch? I've tried looking but guides are for older versions with folder structures that no longer exist. All I see where I might need to put one is Ux0:data/retroarch/assets/rgui/wallpaper

Which is a completely different folder structure from guides I've seen. I found an image nd tried two different sizes nd are just named dark souls nd dark souls bonfire, placed them in the folder above nd I can't select them in retroarch.

Where does the wallpaper go? What size does it need to be to for full screen? What does it need to be named?

to add a background wallpaper to retroarch you take a png image and you rename it to bg.png and move it to:
ux0:/data/retroarch/assets/xmb/(theme you chose)/png; the (theme you choose) is monochrome by default.

If you set a dynamic wallpaper to a photo on your drive.

How do you then disable it so it reverts back to theme default background.

I toggle dynamic background and it makes no difference, my image is still the wallpaper.

You should be able to edit the Retroarch.cfg file
