Hey,

My sister bought my DS from Japan and it came with the Japanese adapter, so I can't use it here in Australia unless I have something to convert it to the standard here. So here's the thing, I just got a multi adapter converter, I plug the Japanese adapter in it and then plug it into the standard Australian plugs. It doesn't work, can anyone explain why this happens or perhaps if I need a special converter adapter in particular?

just check if the adapter have only 110v ? if yes then you already blew the adapter by putting it into 220-240v Australian.

I'm not sure whats what so I'm just going to list down what it says on the adapter:

Input: AC100V 50/60Hz

But further down it says

Input: AC120V 60Hz

The Adapter Converter thingo says 250V

So judging what you're saying... I'm screwed?

The "adapter converter thingo" is called a transformer

This might sound dumb, but have you made sure that socket you used works? Plug in a GBASP (or some electrical device that can be charged) and see if that works.

Also check to see if that transformer steps up currents from 100V - 110V (or something) to at least 240V. Check out the manual for it.

Well I can't seem to find my GBASP, though I might consider getting a USB DS charger. Would anyone happen to know where to get one in Australia?

EDIT: I've been scouting around, and I think I've found a trustworthy company.. sort of. Has anyone ever used this service before? If so, how does it work? Would you recommend it?

Of course I've heard of eBay, I was asking it perhaps someone had used the shop advertised. Do they live up to their claims sort of thing
