Hacking ad-hoc on m3 perfect SD

I've only tried it once before (I had the meteos rom on my m3 perfect sd) and my friend had an actual copy and we were unable to do adhoc.. is there some kind of option I have to do or something or is it just impossible to adhoc with a m3 perfect sd?
