    Hi,

I recently exchanged my 3DS at my local EB Games store (Australia) because my original was completely dysfunctional - wouldn't turn on or anything :(. If I have the serial number of the old 3DS, the clubnintendo account it was linked to, and also all my SD card data. How much of my original 3DS data would I be able to recover?

    Thanks :)

P.S. It probably seems like a pretty dumb question to ask but unfortunately I was too busy on the day that I replaced it to call Nintendo...and it also happened to be a Friday :(.

You shouldn't have done that. You won't be able to transfer it over unless you used the transfer utility in the System settings. All the data is locked to the system, not the Club Nintendo account. You'll have to buy all the games again.

If a system ever breaks, it's best to send it in for repairs because you'll be able to use your purchased content, even if they have to replace the system, because they can transfer over the keys that allow those games to work.

Ah, okay =/. The thing was that the form of damage wasn't covered by the Nintendo warranty, and considering the small amount I'd spend on the eShop it was probably more worth it than to have to pay the ~$100 for repairs and shipping. I guess I'll call on Monday to see what I can do :(
