Activision's Bobby Kotick said that they haven't ruled out making another Guitar Hero in the future.

"It's just not a category that's getting consumers enthusiastic right now, and so I think you need to focus your resources on the things that really get consumers excited," said Kotic.

"If something's not working, we'll take it off the table, maybe reinvent it in the future, but our focus is really on figuring out what are the things that are going to excite audiences the most."

Translation: We're waiting til next generation so we can try to generate some vague nostalgic feeling about the series, and get you to actually pay for the peripherals again.

Maybe they need to realize that they should stop rehashing the same shite every year and just make a game that is enjoyed as a music game rather then throwing all this adventure crap and whatnot. And DLC needs to happen and needs to be consistent, not to mention less gay looking guitars and no more of that touch sensor pad nonsense. They just need to go back to the basics and make it fun, with diversity in music and song support, the thing that makes Rock Band better is the whole band experience, it's not just about playing the guitar and it's not just about playing impossible guitar solos. People don't buy Guitar Hero to play the band mode which causes problems for sales numbers, if people enjoy the local multiplayer mode it's well worth investing.

I like Guitar Hero, so I hope that maybe another game will come out.

Activision needs to learn that shoving franchises down people's throats makes them get tired of it real quickly.
Nintendo know how to mix it up with the Mario franchise.

Ditch the franchise by giving the game a way to covert any song to be playable and sink the ship.

I actually loved Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.
IMO the best guitar hero in the series. Too bad I didn't buy the guitar bundle. The gh 3 guitar is pretty good, except for the fact that the star power is too sensitive. The gh5 was just too fucking heavy and the buttons felt like stones. Oh well.

    Another translation:

We think that our consumers are shallow retards who will buy anything with a specific brand (Call of Duty, Guitar Hero). We don't wanna lose ANY MONEY. So, we're gonna pretend to "reboot" a stupid franchise and get money.

You can't pull the plug on a franchise and then, a week later, want it to get back up and dance around for you.

Didn't like Guitar Hero that much after Harmonix was bought by MTV.
I did like Warriors of Rock, though.
