They don't update your console... they don't even repair them, usually.

The licensed repair centers simply trade your console for a working one and move all of your save data over.

My new one came with the original firmware after sending it in.


They come with whatever version retail consoles come with. It's whichever one introduced the new Photo Channel 1.1. 3.0, I believe?

I'm in the process of getting my Wii repaired, too. In 5-7 days, I'll get a shipping label to send it off to some repair company, which will likely have to send it to Nintendo. I wonder how long it'll take...

Anyways, I heard from JParadox that new systems come with 3.0. So hopefully that's the case. If so, I just need to get the HBC installed on my new system and I'll be content.
