So, i have decided to order an acekard rpg to replace my old r4 (not a clone by the way) I ordered 1 from dealextreme, but after waiting 3 weeks and only being told they are "back ordered" or "out of stock" I have decided to cancel the order and try to find somewhere else to buy. After looking around for a while, there seems to be no store that has them at all! Can anyone point me to a decend website, preferably uk based, where I can buy one. And please no one just say "get an acekard 2.1" because i have good reasons for wanting an RPG

it is basically a lame duck product that tried to exploit "open source" as a buzzword and failed miserably. so just buy an acekard2 or edge

I ordered mine from Bamboo Gaming about a year ago, but if you could find another dealer you would probably be better off. The ordering process was a hassle because they had some weird deal set up with another site to actually charge the payment, so I ended up having to register multiple times and go through a bunch of unnecessary steps.

Seems weird that DX isn't carrying them, I just referred somebody to there a little while ago who bought an RPG.

Do you always make it a point to flaunt your own ignorance, or are we just fortunate to witness you make an ass out of yourself? Go away, you painfully worthless creature.

    GamerSection.ca sells it.

    AceKard R.P.G. It's $83.95.

Seeing as you are in the UK, there no use for the link I gave you. It gives off the same price as the AceKard from the first link.

I am doing nothing but stating the truth, TAK still have not released the source code for the latest versions of the firmware and didn't even use a proper open source license as far as i am aware. that seems like the definition of "hollow gesture" to me.

I would appreciate you not flaming me.

You're welcome. I haven't ordered there myself, but I know that quite some members of this forum did (I believe they even were board sponsors for some time in the past).

They are also mentioned in GBAtemp's Official List of flash card Dealers. The prices aren't the cheapest, but considering the RPG is difficult to get it should be alright.

$65.26 w/free shipping. this is where i got min.

the rpg is a superior product to the ak2 for dev's because of the onboard mem. as of the 4.08 loader speed issues with dma patching for games like POR have been fixed so users no longer need to rely on the rpg onboard. norm now has the 4.12 sources, if you are a dev just ask for them.

i orderd mine from bamboogming around the time it came out, and i had a very easy transaction with them, and i used paypal as well, it cost me like $85 at that time, but its still very worth it, and i still say its the best flashcart out, or at least in top 3

I would suggest Bamboo Gaming as well. The shipping is snappy and the price is nice (though I got mine when the AUD was pretty low, so I only paid about $60 USD). Also, they offer free shipping on the AKRPG (at least, they did when I bought mine). You do have to jump through some hoops to actually place the order, but it's not much of a hassle.

I didn't realize DX had them on backorder. That's too bad.

And as far as the RPG being better or worse, people really need to get their heads out of their asses. The OP said he wanted an AKRPG, NOT an AK2.1. There are MANY reasons why someone would want to get the RPG over the 2.1, but this thread is not the place for that. Please take your useless comments elsewhere. Kthnxbai.

One of the main reason's I stopped using my AKRPG was because the NAND is SLOOOOW, and i do mean slow, while you may not experience lag in game you will experience lag in the rom list and homebrew, not to mention reading/writting to the nand through USB. If it was quicker ram i'd still be using it [IMG]

Lag in the ROM list? Mine is very fast (way faster than Kingston 4GB class4). Try formatting the NAND with the SDFormatter (it works).

No, and I will tell you why: because you are an illiterate little fleck that couldn't be arsed to pay attention before spouting out the first drivel that popped into that shrivelled turd you call a brain. You are wrong on every count, but cannot concede that there are possibly people here that know more about what's going on than yourself. Yet you felt obliged to chime in anyway, with an opinion that nobody ever solicited in the first place.

I cannot abide by your request, because in your world flaming isn't simply me throwing random insults at you, it's the fact that I've posted something contrarian, disagreeable, and threatens to expose your stupidity to yourself and others. And I am sick of seeing your kind propagate here instead of being verbally smacked down like you so readily deserve, just because the rest of us are expected by some silly rules to tolerate you and everything you say even when it screams that you're WRONG. Your kind exists within that margin to assume justification for your stupidity just because the rest of us aren't allowed to openly say otherwise.

Now go run to some mod and cry about how some mean person said mean things to you on the internet. I consider any 'punishment' acceptable if it means shutting you up for five minutes, and _maybe_ next time you'll THINK before writing because _maybe_ the next guy won't stand for it either.
