first of all, sorry for my poor Engrish, but I'm from China.I'm the first who bring u a review u so eagerly anticipated
and I'm not one of the promoters,I'm a middle school student.I even don't have a DS,though I thought to buy one before Xmas.now I'm playing Finalfantasy 5,my Japanese is poor too!! anyone help me with the walkthrough?
here is the url,see to it yourself if u know a few Chinese
yyjoy
1 100% ds game compatibility
2 the brand-new AKFS file system, support 100%clean rom now and in the future(which means it will not be recognized in other platforms,'cause it's an unique OS designed by the Acecard team.
3 pokeman diamond runs well just like others(Is it a small advantage over ds-X?)
4 Acekard manager needed to be installed in your PC
5 do not support GBA games
6 no need for flashme
7 build in passme function
8 support nds ndsl as well as Idsl, whatever ds you may have
9 no need for upgrading the firmware
10 use TF cards,kingston kingmax sandisk,etc.according to the card,automatically choose the speed.sundisk runs at a speed of 13,kingmax 3,kingston 4
11 spiderman lego war 100% support
12 price RMB 360,$about 45?
13 U can buy it late in the Oct(in China)
14 support for homebrews
I think U'd ponder on it those who decided to buy DS-x,it's nopoint compared to ACE
conclusion
pros:1 100% ds game compatibility
2 uses clean rom,so no need for upgrading the FW,NOW and IN THE FUTURE.as long as NINTENDO don't change their structure fundamentally(u can play your favorite game as first time, don't bother to download the patches, looking here and there.what will it be?maybe U can play ff7 as soon as it is out while your friend who has a SC or m3,g6,ds-x are waiting anxioulsy for the patches or FW upgrade.
3 use TF card as storage, that's a must-have function for some people
cons:1 unfortunately, because of it's unique file sys, support for homebrews is poor NOW(such as moonshell, could not load)
2 as it uses 100% clean rom without patching it,so U couldn't reset the game during gameplay,U must turn off the DS and on again to change a game.
it support wifi playing, but u must have the card inserted in the slot on both DS,unless your DSs are flashed.
here are some pics,have a look!!Acecard

I don't want to sound like an ass..but isn't this one of the creator's of acekard just trying to promote his product?

I got that exact same feeling. He's only made two posts and BAM! he's promoting something that the rest of the homebrew world knows little about. Prolly head of PR. xD

I think:
13 U can buy it late in the Oct(in China)
-is the most important bit of news, if it is true.

That means we'll know all the answers soon, once actual reviews start coming out.

Ahh we would be more than glad to get one for a review hehe
cant help feeling a bit skeptical over this at the moment though...
Here's what I understand:

Pros:
- Price! $45 ? woot! (although you still need a microSD card and a card reader)
- Compatibility! hmm interesting
- No need to upgrade the firmware? hmm interesting too but I'm doubtful

Cons
- too bad it's compatible with windows only (unless you guys make a linux or macOS client aswell)
- why do you guy have the acekard while you're telling us it's available late october in china? and you're not in the acekard team?
- "sundisk" cards? never heard of them
biggrin.gif

- "AKFS" (acekard file system) ... = not compatible with homebrew.. too bad
- roms actually require patching since you need to install the card manager... meaning clean dumps not supported (well supported by the manager but that's not what we want)

To me it looks like a DSLink! Except for the fact you don't need a flashed DS.

Two comments on your "cons".... First, while it does appear patching may be necessary initially, he does say that clean ROMS will be supported in the future. Point #14 says "support for homebrew". While that is kind of vague, I'm not sure your "AKFS = not compatible with homebrew" will prove to be true.

Anyway, the whole patching thing isn't a big deal to me personally. I don't give a crap if a game has to be patched or not, just that it plays.

As far as i know if you patch a game it usually means that you can not play single cart multiplayer games.

Hey at least it's not like the DS-X where *BAM* it instantly gets it's own forum two months before it's release

Hey i think he's doing a good thing for all of us. I can read chinese and i often go to yyjoy to look for flash card update. Their updates is much faster than on english sites. I know what the acekard does BUT i'm just too lazy to share them with anyone and translate. So give him some credit!!
