The hype for the Ace Attorney Anime is over! The first episode is out and it is about the first ever case in the Ace Attorney series.

I watched it and was not disappointed! The theme song is amazing to! I normally skip them but not this one! (Also cuz the theme songs opening video is amazing as well)

It was good, but not as good.
It was plagued with QUALITY, the artists definitely could have done a better job with the details. The rest is all good.

Yeah. but coming from Capcom you'd expect something a little more carefully done, that's all.
The story was followed exactly like in the game and the animation was good. The details where the only problem I had, but is tolerable.

I enjoyed the first ep, but was slightly disappointed by the lack of Winston Payne's "Rookie Crusher" antics. I also wonder if they might've picked the wrong voice actor for the judge, but only time will tell if he grows on me. I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of the series!

capcom really has nothing to do with it past choosing a company to handle the actual making process of the anime
This is pretty below standard even for A1 pictures, according to rumors the production for this is being extremely rushed and is basically a mess, they will probably end up hitting a 1 week delay soon or they turn out stuff like the above link to keep up with the scheduled

A1 is also animating asterisk war and this show actually makes that pos generic high school battle harem show look good

There's alot of problems with it:
-bad voice acting
-terrible animation quality and dull backgrounds (i'm not expecting kyoani quality, but at least put in a little effort?)
-opening is very dull and boring featuring the many tropes, "endless running" seems to be the most prevalent one as almost the whole op features it, and the running ironically shows the bad animation
-ending is very plain, you can see they just did it that way to save money and time actually animating anything, see this for example

its also simple, features very light music, simple animations but is miles ahead of the aa ed, it tells a story and you are actually moved by it where as the aa ed we have maya putting on lipstick then she starts crying (what?)
-the source material is also not the greatest thing to make an anime of, while it may work as an light novel its still pretty predictable, since most of the people watching this already played all the games and know the outcomes, they could change stuff around or make it more interesting, some light novels have had huge success (steins;gate) but alot fail in their anime adaptations

I don't see them fixing these problems, unless they go with a whole different studio, and thats if it gets a second season, its getting fairly bad reviews as of right now

@Joe88 That's what I said "good" and not "great" or "excellent", but maybe I should have said only "ok".
I'm not used to A1 as I haven't seen any their productions so I didn't know what to expect. It was ok in general and I can tolerate not so good animation if isn't an action anime.
I must reckon was a big contrast because that very day I was checking Kyoukai no Kanata bdrip that just finished downloading.

Quite liked the pilot episode but watching it with the localised/dubnames was very confusing so thankfully there are fansubbers using the original names. I don't get how one goes from ramen to burgers.. it's like 4Kids type of B.S.
