    Hi

I just bought a wii off ebay and I recieved it and its an american version. I went back to the item page and it was listed really small but the picture made it look australian with an aussie flag and everything. I dont know what to do as I have preordered the wii fit from toys r us and now I cant use it. Should I try and sell it or get a mod chip put in. I dont really know anything about mod chips so not sure its a good idea or if I can make things worse. If anyone has any advice on what to do or mod chips I would really appreciate it!

    Thanks

    Jess

Modchip, then you can play all games (PAL might semi-brick like NTSC almost did to my PAL.)

Don't worry. It is far easier to make a US Wii work in PAL regions, than getting a PAL Wii to work in the US.

Nearly all new TVs sold in Europe (and presumably Australia) support NTSC.

On the other hand, I've never seen confirmation any TV ever sold in the continental US supports 50hz, 576i, or 576p input.

Mod it, get a freeloader either through retail channels or online and you'll be able to play pretty much every game. Shouldn't be a problem me thinks

I hear there is a freeloader that you can use through the twilight hack if you buy Zelda.

The freeloader is a pressed disc made by Datel, no twilight hack needed.

well i think ntsc sux because its worse resolution but anyways . the only good thing ntsc has is that us dollar is so low, ntsc games even imported from the us are filthy cheap compared to games prices in europe . oh they are released earlier most of the times too (die nintendo and your ssbb release date that has been pushed back twice so far [IMG] ... but that is irrelevant ...

just download freeloader to play your pal games. get a converter too since i assume australia does not have 110 V.

as the guys mentioned before almost all tvs they sell in europe (so i would assume australia too) support ntsc so you can just use freeloader for now (until nintendo decides to block it if they ever will).
or just mod your wii and then you will be able to play everything. (just make sure you dont let pal games run their update, because wii will not be a happy camper in that case [IMG] )

Wouldn't it be best to just forfeit your deposit on Wii Fit (AUD 25?), or sell your Wii Fit. They'll be in short supply so you could stand to make a profit.

There are advantages to having an NTSC Wii though. PAL games are much more expensive, and many games come out in NTSC regions first.

Jalaneme, learn what you're talking about. PAL is vastly superior to NTSC. Look it up.
