    YOU'RE OVER DRAMATIC!!

he's only "FUCKED" for a few days/weeks until a new update comes out just like every other time this has happened to people when a new firmware version is released.

When you guys talk about backing up, I backed up eMMC and dumped package 1/2 before hacking on heckate. Does this mean it's possible for me to downgrade? If so, is there a link to a good guide to do this?

EDIT: Never mind, I thought I backed up the GPP, but apparently I didn't.

You guys do understand the definition of accident, right?

Because if you do, you would realize the word is being used correctly and you can kindly take the mockery posts elsewhere.

It is traditional when a new firmware is released by Nintendo to have some users post that they accidentally updated their console, and now their CFW is fucked. Some people suggest to downgrade, but personally I would just sit quietly. A new upgraded CFW will come out any day, both for Atmosphere and SXOS probably, and it's just not worth the trouble (and the risks) to try to downgrade. Go play some board games with friends or family, watch netflix, read a book, lots of ways to spend your time while waiting.

    I'm in the same situation because I'm a retard. Went trough the pc downgrade but just wanted to be sure before I finalize everything;
If I downgrade my switch to 6.1 (and thus clear my switch user data and saves), will I later be able to recover my former saves using my NAND backup? Or does it change something fundamental?
I don't see why it would but I prefer to be certain since the risk is rather high.

If you did an official update and rebooted without going through RCM you likely burned some fuses. That should stop you from running older firmware, which makes downgrades dangerous. You can check your fuse count with Hekate and figure out what version firmware you are locked to now.

    Hi all,
I've also fucked as i made the same mistake.
I was on 8.1.0, and was trying to format my memory card and it asked for an update. I updated it as i was not aware of the 9.1.0 release. I can boot into hekate but my cfw won't boot after showing only the logos.

But i still have a NAND backup of my good old 8.1.0 firmware. I am able to boot into hekate and i've mostly used switch with autoRCM on.
Can anyone please suggest what to you ?
Should i restore my 8.1.0 backup and then create a emmunand from it, and then again restore 9.1.0 in sysnand ?
or Should i wait for new compatible cfw release from Atmosphere ?

I know i've made a huge mistake but please suggest a solution instead of criticizing what i've done.

    Thanks in advance

If you can wait, do so. It by far the easiest method and you won't lose anything.

You're not doomed, just wait a bit. Now, if you had one of those patched Switches, and updated from the hackable firmware to 9.1, then yea, you'd be pretty much fucked.
