Hi everyone,

I recently got a used, unpatched v1 Switch and have been tinkering around with it a lot. I've been regularly booting into emuMMC using Hekate and injecting it with Rekado, got it up to up to firmware 19.0.0 and everything was going smoothly .

But today, I made a mistake. I wanted to check something on stock firmware because I’d read that I could play my purchased games without any issues there. I thought I was just downloading a game, but I must have hit the wrong option at some point because now the system updated itself to 19.0.1 stock firmware. Now I can’t access Hekate anymore—Rekado doesn’t respond when I try to restart the Switch, and it always boots straight to stock firmware.

I tried shutting it down and booting up with the volume buttons (tried both + and -), but it keeps going straight to stock. Unfortunately, I don’t have an RCM jig right now to try and force it, and it’ll take a couple of weeks to get one.

I’m new to all this, and I’ve searched for a solution but haven’t found anything that works. I knew I’d mess something up eventually—can’t resist tinkering! :)

Can anyone help me get access to Hekate again? Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Your gonna need the jig, and put the switch into rcm mode with the jig, then send the Hekate payload with PC (tegragui)

Without the jig you might be out of luck. According to everything I've read, the current Hekate and Atmosphere should work with 19.0.1. If you are in need, use tinfoil. That's what I did on my first attempt.

You might already know this, but just for clarification, what likely happened is the FW update restored the (intentionally corrupted) bootfile, so now, when you press the Power button, the Switch boots like it was meant to, instead of going into RCM (Recovery mode) which is necessary in order to push a payload.

As other have said, you need either a RCM jig, a paper clip, or some tinfoil to force the switch back into RCM.

You really need to know what you are doing if you're gonna attempt the latter options, because short circuiting the wrong pins can fry your Switch afaik. Personally, I'd wait for that RCM jig.

Reading your message I thought - What the hell does Tinfoil have to do with this? Then I realized you weren't talking about the installer app :rofl2:
