Hacking About to buy an AceKard 2i

Hey guys, as title says im about to buy an AK2i, heard they are about the best to get but ive also just read about some firmware getting hacked from AKAIO.
Is this going to make a difference to any updates or should i still go ahead and buy one?

Just buy one of these. Like you said it's the best choice with the AKAIO 1.6 firrmware.

You're right there was a hack with AKAIO 1.5.1

Because of this the AKAIO development team had stopped supporting AKAIO for a while so that they could recompile/encrypt AKAIO differently to prevent further attempts

But the team is now back with the latest release version (1.6RC1) so that the general public can try it out (& find any further bugs in it), before they release the final 1.6 version

Since they are still supporting AKAIO with this release despite the hacking attempt - I would say it's a good sign that AKAIO is here to stay
