Hacking About to buy a psp can you help regarding model and fw ?

Hi psp wise people !

As the title says i'm about to buy a psp for my kids and i'm a bit lost as to which model I should get.
The tutorials are all fairly old and the official current fw is probably not listed.

Could you please tell me which model I should get ? I'm guessing 3004

Are all the fw now hacked or is there one I should avoid ?

get psp 3000 series (any)
6.20 for perma cfw
6.60 for flash cfw(boot up every restart)

there is no firmware that is unhackable as far as i can remember
if i did someone clear this up for me
