Hi guys, I backup'd my Pokemon Emerald's progress using Rudolph's GBA Backup 0.1 with my M3 Real. How can I use it to play in an emulator like Visual Boy Advance (Link)? I tried to put it just in the folder and changing sav options and such but no success. Thanks in advice.

I already did that, I have the sav file but I can't use it on VBA.

Use shuny's web converter to convert the sav file. You can't just put it in the folder because it uses a different format than VBA.

I never needed to convert anything when using a retail Emerald save file on VBA.
Just make sure save type is Flash 128k.
Make sure save file is the same name as the rom and in the same folder.

Quick question, are you using VBA Link?
You will need to rename it to .sa1 instead of .sav then.

Oh, and I gotta warn you: If you want to restore your save file to the retail cart later, internal clock may mess up.
As in, time gets reseted to 0 AM and it sets the amount of weeks to 9999.
Time-based events also seem not to work anymore.

It happened to me in Ruby, the internal battery was fine, there was no message on file selection screen, but time-based events didn't happen and time was messed up.
The only way to fix it is to restart your game, unfortunately.
    Berry fix was alerady applied.
