I'm just confused on what BackUp loaders to use for GameCube BackUps. What is the best GameCube BackUp loader to have it load up gamecube backups from an SD card? (prefer not to use disk if possible; rather have them load the GC ISO from an SD card or USB)

Gamecube backups currently can't be played from sd or usb, maybe with a gecko sd or usb but the compatility is not very high. The very best thing is dvd, simply use neogamma from neogamma r9 beta test thread.

If you want to play GC-Games from USB or SD, you'll need a ModChip (WODE/Sundriver for USB, WiiKey Fusion for SD). You can also try Swiss, but you'll need an SD-Gecko for it, and it's not perfect.

    For discs, see here: http://gbatemp.net/t219243-neogamma-r9-beta-test

ah i see, so NeoGamma is the best for gamecube back up but only from disk?
Okay, then how would I go about properly backing back up of GC games to a DVD-R?

Yes, only from disc. If you want to backup a retail you should use CleanRip, if you want to burn the images you should use ImgBurn and DVD-R.

I see, and I can just use the default setting of image burn? I don't have to do anything special?

I recommend burning multi game discs, read the mini FAQ here:
    http://gbatemp.net/t219243-neogamma-r9-beta-test?

Just don't shrink games that actually contain audio streaming(Eternal Darkness, Ikaruga, Star Fox Adventures etc.), being on a multi game disc or not doesn't make a difference for compatiblity. Well it seems to improve the loading times when put as last game on the disc...

Can you play backup Gamecube games with an USB DVD drive connected to the wii? I have the newer models of the wii. Or is there any other way to play Gamecube backups other then getting an Modchip, Wode or SD Gecko.

Hmm...not really agree. It's true it points out a lot of things, but those are all important. There are more factors that can cause things to not work, so the guide has to explain how to avoid all of that. [IMG]

@Maplemage: if you can find and install a DVD-drive of an old wii, you'll be able to use that. Though honestly: I doubt it'll be a better solution than an SD-gecko or a WODE.

You CAN play GC ISOs through the WODE, but no homebrew support as of yet.
