Hell yes.

The only people saying Menuhax is "good enough" haven't yet experienced A9LH.
Don't settle. Join us in 100% bootrate glory!

Never settle for less! Join the CFW SysNAND army! Don't wanna install your DSi/GBA games twice? Well fuck that and just install them once on your sysNAND! A9LH FTW!

I did it on my o3DS and I can say it's totally worth it, no more yellow screen! But if you don't care and want another reason, a good one, I would say that just getting control over system before it boots without hardmod is already good enough.

Just finished it on both my o3ds and n3ds went well. It was so worth it.

If you follow the guide word for word you probably will not brick. Only thing I can think of that could cause a brick that isn't user error is like a worn out or dying sd card that breaks mid flash. I actually had a sd card break during the downgrade process initially and had to get a new one.

I decided to go for it after it taking me just under five minutes to boot at a friend's house and haven't ever looked back. That being said, I wouldn't rush to do it if you are fine with your current setup and a few seconds won't make a difference to you.

Can Decrypt9 be patched with a new system update?

With rxtools and emunand you dont need to worry if you update because you can just restore the emunand, but with this metod you need to be aware of new updates right?
That is what i mean, can a9lh be patched by system update?
Even if it could be patched (and it can't according to people), no one prevents you from still using an emuNAND with a9lh. So exactly the same setup you're using now (where you can "just restore your emuNAND" and stuff) but with better boot rate and boot time.

I laughed more than I should have at this...

But I agree. It took me a few hours but it was totally worth it! I need to do my O3DSXL next.

Realistically, as long as you follow the guide carefully and don't rush, then the chance of bricking is pretty low. And once it's done, you don't need to do it again.

I did it and it was well worth it. Especially if you already have emunand setup. Im still using emunand, and its great! Its the best way to future proof your 3ds and fast boot times. You wont miss out on any features either! The process is very simple and you won't brick unless you do something really stupid.

The whole not having to close and open the system to fix 3d was a plus as well on my N3ds. The boot rate for me seemed to be about 80% and there are times where it didn't boot 2 or 3 times in a row very annoying. So yea it was worth it. I was really scared to do it for the longest time but finally did it and everything came out fine.

Does it really take that long?Or are the guides just not clear enough and they take alot of rereading to make sure you dont mess anything up.
Yeah it actually took me a day and a half - whenever it had to dump or install something I would go do some chores or watch TV (so sometimes it would be finished waiting for me to continue but I was still busy), and I went out on Saturday afternoon too. Started around ten am on Saturday, finished about 2pm on Sunday.

Took about a day for me also, but each time a backup was made I uploaded it to a cloud backup before I continued.

Takes like a half of day due to the number of nand dump/restores you have to do. Played computer games while waiting for dumps to finish.

[A9LH]

Profits
- Faster and 100% stable coldboot because of no emuNAND

Merits
- Currently no more uses than coldboot
- Difficult to get OTP - the needed key file
- High brick-rate when writing built A9LH file to SysNAND - but in order to use A9LH you must write it into SysNAND
- Install bad tickets to SysNAND due to no-emuNAND
(Every CIA installation adds bad ticket to the ticket.db and it's ETERNALLY UNABLE TO BE REMOVED unless you have a ticket.db/NAND backup)

[Menuhax]

Profits
- Up to 95% stable coldboot
- Multiboot for more uses than launching CFW
- No fear about installing bad tickets to SysNAND when you use emuNAND
- No brick issues

Merits
- 5% less stable coldboot than A9LH (which sounds like nothing)

Aaahahaha. My Menuhax coldboot rate was around 40% with the latest everything.
Bad tickets?

Use CTRBootManager/Lesshax/other instead of the sucking "Renaming rxTools.3dsx to boot.3dsx like" method.
Confirm that you did read and did correctly adjust CTRBootManager's boot.cfg carefully.
Confirm that your SysNAND isn't frankenfirmware with downgrade check. If it is frankened, fix it.
Then it's 95%.

This advice is not only giving to you but also other people.

CTRBM is what lowered it to like 15%.
I actually made it a practice to interrupt coldboot to go to Homebrew Launcher and manually select the 3dsx for my CFW. It was way better, but still bad.
