Hacking A9LH and antsy, am I free of hard bricks with decrypt9 or not?

So my understanding of why "updated sysnand" is as safe as emunand is because I can directly boot into decrypt9 and just flash a working copy of my sysnand if I somehow bricked my active one. Right?

Does this mean a hardbrick is no longer possible, or are there are still things I could do to induce a hardbrick? If so, what?

It is still possible if you do weird things with the firmware like downgrading with sysupdater again or flashing broken nand backups. This will overwrite the firm0 partition and deletes a9lh.
I read somewhere on reddit that downgrading with a9lh also bricks the 3ds.

Ok so downgrading is a no go, how about formatting?

Formatting just deletes a user partition on the nand. Nothing to worry about. If you choose to format the sd card too you'll be greeted with a black screen until you copy the cfw files and arm9loader.bin again to the sd card.

As long as you don't do anything that overwrites FIRM0 and 1, you should be good.
