ROM Hack A good idea for DSi Homebrew....

Imagine if you could back up your saves and ROMs of your retail cart to the SD card of your DSi....
It would be better IMO since I don't have WEP security to back it up over wifi.

DISCLAIMER: AS OF NOW I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HOW THE DSi READS HOMEBREW AND IF THIS COULD WORK. I DON'T THINK ITS YET POSSIBLE BECAUSE I HEARD DSi CAN NOT READ SD WHILST PLAYING VIDEO GAMES.....

Probably could (not) work, but its a pitch for another day I suppose...

It would require too much work to cause the DSi to communicate with the SD slot in that fashion. On top of that, you have to look at the encryption and such that really, still hasn't been completely cracked. Nobody really cares about the DSi anymore though. It's all about the 3DS.

I don't think it's possible. Last I heard, DSiware doesn't have Slot 1 access. Assuming you're talking about the Sudoku exploit. If you meant iEvo, then I'm not sure.

The SD card slot is locked out once a game in slot-1 is launched.

Actually even then I'm not too sure...

BUT I think slot-1 games would have access to SD card also, just not explicitly.
I'll check some things but I have a hunch DSi mode gives access to everything but some of the features are hidden...
Just a hunch though...

EDIT: Why did this get moved to ROM hacking and translations? This isn't about a commercial ROM....

SD is locked out when slot-1 boots.

Dunno' if TC is developing a way around that.
