Hacking a friend updated his wii now the softmod isnt working

hi
a friend paid for his wii softmoding at work
im not sure what they used to softmod it
but it has got an old neogama channel on and a backup launcher
he never got told to dont update the system menu e.c.t , but he went online and updated to 4.2
now non of the backup loaders work
so i have it
i have reinstalled the HBC and just installing bootmii as ios and boot 2
can i just follow xzxero 4.2 guide and softmod over the top of whats already on it?

Yes. The update should have deleted any softmod (apart from the channels, maybe), so now his wii is a normal 4.2 Wii.

Just follow xzxeros guide and it should all work again

i just backed up the nand boot2
and deleted the channels
then went with the 4.2 guide and all is well
