Hey, just wanna ask a few simple questions about the DSTWO's functions.

Forgive me if "all carts" do these things nowadays, the only other cart I have is a M3 perfect.

Okay.

Does the DSTWO:

1. create .sav files for games that don't have them? (like if a game has no data it will make a .sav)
2. Automatically DLDI homebrew applications?
3. Run any backed-up cart, even new ones, without patches? (the SLOT2 M3 is useful for ripping backups and keeping my originals mint

)

Thanks, sorry if these are really simple questions, couldn't actually find any clear answers.

1. Yes it does. It's suppose to because they are needed for games. The question would be why wouldn't the make a save? These games never come with a save file automatically when you rip them or download them, and you can't just make a save file on your computer for that game. It would have to be made right as the game starts.
2. Only when you load them through the DS loader like a normal game. For some reason when loading them through the plugin menu they aren't patched.
3. As far as we can tell, yes. The DS TWO has claimed to be able to play any commercial game that is backed up through Intelligent Antipiracy Patching.

Allright.

The M3 perfect is one of those cards that makes no save

Without a .dat made with PC software backups don't even run.

Hmm, so they should be run via DS_GAME...gotcha.

I suppose the .plg apps like DSTWO emulators and Ireader, the upcoming video player, etc have a different file system than DLDI, since they've gotta be run from the main menu.

Thanks guyz!

yea m3 loved to use .dat instead of .sav. it really confused me when i got my m3 lite perfect. both of the online save converters should be able to convert from m3's .dat to scds2's .sav.

OK, that's fine. I guess any card's type of .sav will do, since DSTWO isn't listed.

Just one more question I forgot t ask:

Does the DSTWO automatically trim ROMs?

If it doesn't, where can I get a ROM trimmer that works with it? (The one I use for the M3 perfect works only with M3 perfect)

Just use a trimmer program on your computer, they're universal. TinyTrimmer is my recommendation.
