Hacking A few questions regarding EMUNand, Sysnand, Gateway, Themes

Hi,

I finally managed to get Gateway(redcard) running with my new3dsxl 9.0.0-20E (*BIG SUCCESS* for a noob like me that is used to run a 4.5 old3dsxl haha)

I formatted EMUNand with the Gateway Menu and now i want to unlink my sysnand from the emunand (to prevent the unwrapping problem of my .cias)

1) Do i update the GWEmunand before or after i unlinked it from SysNAND?
1a) Unlinking: Just go to System settings -> Other Settings -> Page 5 -> Format System. is this still applicable to the new3dsxl?
1b) Updating: Same like format, but i just use the system update button of course?

2) Can i keep wlan of in sysnand at anytime and wlan on in emunand at anytime without the risk that the console is updating itself?

3) Can i install custom themes in the GWEMunand? Or only in CFW like rxtools/Cakes/etc.? I run cakesfw

Just so you understand: RxTools/Cakes use the same emuNand as GW

1) Update your emuNand after you unlink
1.a) To unlink: power down your N3DS, remove the uSD card, then format
1.b) For N3dS, you DON'T update through Nintendo because it will take your emuNand to 10.3, which won't work on new 3DS. You need to search for "updating emuNand using sysupdater". For N3DS, max sysNand update is 9.5

2) If you keep WLAN ON, the update may be downloaded to your N3DS, but won't automatically update. There's a way to clear that update out so it won't nag you. I don't remember the exact process to do this.

3) As mentioned GW emunand and CFW emunand are one in the same

So basically everytime i load up the userprofile exploit and boot inte "GWMode" i am also using the CakesFW?

I already unlinked my SYSnand from EMUnand and setup a fake internet connection on Sysnand and the correct one on EMUnand.

Regarding the EMUNand update: Is there any benifit from updating to 9.5?

I think u r still confused about operating modes and emunand. If u boot in GWmode then u r running GW. If you boot into Cakes then u r running Cakes. However the two of them share the same emunand stored in your SD card. So in your case the themes you installed in one mode will show up in the other

Regarding 9.5 don't update until you have a need for it. If 9.0 is doing what you need then why knock it.
