I don’t seek revenge, it’s not worth the cost. I did think about it and even started the process of getting revenge on an abuser of mine. But I decided against it when I realized revenge would most likely not return the stuff I lost and also meant dealing with my abuser for longer than I wanted. So, I dropped everything and just decided to live my life

What do you think of it?
Depends on what you're thinking about taking revenge for

Do you seek it?
No, because nothing has happened worthy of it

Does it serve any purpose?
Depends on the person and context

Have you had it before?
Yes

How did it feel? Why?
In my specific case, liberating to finally punch a bully flat in his face in the middle of a class because he wouldn't stop his shit.
Was also the only time I had to go see the principal, but I got no consequences because of it being known.

Do I recommend it?
In most cases, no. There's plenty of things where I feel revenge would only feel good temporarily, but you'd have to live with the consequences ultimately. It's better to cut things out of your life if you can. If you really can't (as with a bully in school and the school refusing to do anything), then I don't know.

When I can think of a good way to do what it was done to me, I totally take the chance.
I don't see it as revenge though.

To tell the difference.. did you do it to just make the person suffer? then that's revenge.. did you do it to get justice? then that's retribution.

"Seek revenge and you should dig two graves, one for yourself"
Sometimes attributed to Confucius.
Even without that though it does speak to the expense.

Burn Notice
"Revenge is a waste of time." "So is watching television and eating candy, but you do it because it feels good"

Anyway in talk of games you have games played once and games played continuously. Revenge on something played once. Revenge when you play something continuously... potentially a different matter -- the basic solution to continuous prisoner's dilemma being that one.

Both!

I can usually turn things to my favour by repeating bad attitudes from other people.
If you yell, I'll yell louder.
If you hit me, I'll hit you harder.
If you push my buttons, I'll do yours twice.

To want revenge you have to feel wronged in some way, so it's the same as wanting to get justice and retribution. To do bad things just to make someone suffer is being a sociopath.

Revenge...in any Computer/Video Game - of Course !! :evil::P
You say that but I always find the revenge/payback ideas in multiplayer games lead to people maybe ignoring the greater objectives, which means either effectively less players or if my team has a variation on the theme of lives count then people throwing them away and troubling the rest.
