Fusee Gelee is a hardware exploit. Firmware is irrelevant. If your console is patched, its because of the hardware not the software.

If you have a patched Switch, there is a possibility you may never get to run CFW. If you want a hacked console, I suggest you find an unpatched unit and maybe return this one in the meantime.

Hi, so I tried this method and I got 0X7000, I ran it twice just to make sure. however I want to make completely sure. My switch is on the the red patch list but orange on the Ismyswitchpatched. It is XAW4001540 and running v9. So is it patched or not. If its not which CFW can i try to run with less risk. Thanks.

Well when you did the test, did anything appear on the Switch screen? I would assume so if you got a byte smash of 0x7000

Yes there is. Lines of code and a emoji icon.

That pretty much confirms your console is not patched despite what your serial number is. Remember that the serial number is only a rough estimate and while it may be accurate some of the time, the real test is pushing a payload.

I see, I just tried again and its still the same. Lines of code, orange emoji and a barcode appear on the switch. where would you recommend to start first now that the switch is not patched ?

Since your console is already on firmware 9.0, you will need a CFW that supports firmware 9.0. I personally recommend Atmosphere and here is a guide that can set you up.

Hi.. didn't see this asked in the nine pages of very helpful information

Have a new used switch that says patched according to the websites

Still I understand this method is the way to know for sure

If I run the test and am able to inject and run the .bin can i still do a full NaNd backup. I plan on possible running cfw but going back to stock possibly one day to play online, etc in the Nintendo world online (i.e. restore if I don't accidentally get myself banned)

Also should i test to see if banned before testing it for patched/unlatched
    Thanks in advance

I will return if patched and want to be fair to seller and not screw anything up

P.s.i have rcm loader if that makes testing easier..

Sending a payload doesn't taint the NAND. Only CFW & homebrew do. Also it is up to you if you want to test if it is banned or not.

Thanks a lot!! So I can see if it's unlatched. If it isn't then test to see if not banned. Then factory reset, backup nand and have fun with cfw.. when im ready to go back to stock restore nand. Sound right?

Is there an easy way to test if banned?

And hekate is what I need to backup nand?

Also, is it possible to accidentally patch or 'burn a fuse' on an unpatched unit?

Sorry for all questions just want to be thorough.

What site is best to read up?

    Thanks again!!

The easiest way to check if your banned is by trying to use the eShop.

Yes, you use Hekate to dump the NAND.

And yes, it is also possible to accidentally burn fuses on an unpatched unit.

While not a site, you can read through this thread to catch up on Switch hacking in general.
