Okay, I've heard people say slot-1/slot-2 can do certain things, and then heard other people say it can't do those things, it can do these things, etc.

I am getting an r4ds, with micro sd Kingston 2GB - Made In Japan (Factory format), as it:

    -WORKS with Firmware 1.06
    -Castlevania Test : 5 of 5
-No freezes in Castlevania Portrait of Ruin.

But I've heard people say that a slot-2 is used for nds emulation, and gba, not the slot-1.

But can the slot-1 use it too, or what does it do exactly? I'm confused on the whole matter...

I want to get an ez4lite deluxe with micro sd as well, But i'm wondering which mirco sd goes best with it, or if I should even get one at all. I'd like the extra space.

So, can r4ds micro sd kingston 2gb - made in japan (factory format), and an ez4lite deluxe (with micro sd maybe) do:

    -snes/nes/gb/nds/gba emulation (near flawless)

-gba/ds homebrew emulation (near flawless as well)

    -dslinux support

    Please tell me. thanks. [IMG]

The R4DS can only play DS games, apps and homebrew. "Homebrew" also has some emulators like nesDS to play NES games. It can also play SNES game using SNEmulDS, but it cannot play GBA games or homebrew games designed for GBA flashcarts, it just ain't gonna happen with any of the current slot1 carts. You need a slot2 cart for that. I'm not sure if there was ever was an emu for GB/GBC games, but there might be.

Slot2 cards tend to be a jack-of-all-trades type of deal, playing EVERYTHING, but are generally harder to use because they require special patching for just about every ROM you stick in it. And to play DS games/apps/homebrew, you will need some type of slot1 passkey or card to enable DS mode for the slot2 cart.

Oh I see, so slot-1 is mainly for apps, and can play some homebrew.
And the emulators are basically apps, so the slot-1 is used for snes emulators as well?

And slot2 requires special patching, but can generally play all the systems?

I own the Castlevania games, I was just wondering of the 2GB would allow less issues than 1GB, though I have heard nothing bad about getting any form of the Kingston JP cards.

It seems they all have the same abilities, so I have nothing to worry of, right?
