Hacking 9.2 N3DS on Gateway to RXTools, how do I start?

Already have GW installed with emunand running. I want to transition to using RXTools instead. Also I have CN and OOT. Any pointers on how I could safely convert? Also, would my games and saves be ported fine?

having the gateway card is quite annoying since i don't use anything but CIAs anyway. i'd like to use real cartridges along with CIAs.

RxTools does not support New 3DS unfortunately. Old 3DS and 2DS only
There most likely won't be added support since the core developer is retiring from the RxTools project.

I'm not sure about the open source versions. You're probably right about it now having support for New 3DS

rxTool do support n3ds but only Emunand at 9.5

You can skips plenty of steps since you have Gateway and CN and OOT.

Use 1002 nightly build (October 02). Newer build is not working at the moment if I am not mistaken.

Use savedata filer to keep your game save data. Not sure about where GW install CIA (on the mSD on GW red card or mSD in the N3DS). If in mSD, then I think you can use the same EMUNAND for rxTools.

So here what I suggest: Back up your current NAND and store it safely away on your PC with your original NAND.

Use this guide here https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-transfer-emunand-to-another-sd-card-working-on-new3ds.383684/ , to back up all your mSD (also remember to store it safely on PC). It will perfectly back up the current state of the mSD. Therefore, if something goes wrong, You can restore your NAND + restore image to mSD(s), and you are back to the state of you were before you modify. Of course this way the EMUNAND's also safe kept.
