Homebrew 7 Question Of An Absolute Newbie...

I've got my first N2DSXL console ever a couple of days ago, and I was trying to read all the info on the topic of Homebrew emulator and CFW, I've been totally overwhelmed and I would like to ask some more direct question to better understand this new world:

- The same exploits and methodologies used to "hack" the 3DS are valid for the 2DS?

- What is a better method of installing a CFW on the latest firmware? Frogminer or Seedminer?

- I've seen that Nintendo bans console that installs CFW, if I back up my own games (CIA) and play online I can get in trouble?

- If I get banned, the console gets banned or my Nintendo account?

- To use cheats (offline) is better a CFW or a Flashcard?

- What's the difference between BootNTR and B9S?

- What is the best precaution to take to reduce the change of getting banned?

I've learning a lot on this site and feels amazing, thanks to anyone will take the time to answer my questions.

Yes. Practically speaking, the 2DS is a 3DS.

I belive Seedminer, but I'm not sure.

A general rule of thumb is, if you don't cheat online or play unreleased games online, you won't get banned. Make sure you disable SpotPass-Sharing (in the settings) and Game-Sharing (in the friends-menu), though.

The console.

For 3DS games, CFW. For DS games, a flashcart may be easier since most of them support tons of cheats already.

As mentioned above, don't play unreleased games online and don't cheat online and disable all ways of sharing any data with Nintendo or other consoles.

1. Yes. 2DS/O3DS and New 3DS/2DS are the exact same consoles. One has 3D, the other doesn't. That's the only difference.

2. I would say Frogminer vs Seedminer (honestly, NTRBooTHax is the easiest fastest if you have a compatible flashcard).

3. Nintendo doesn't just ban for CFW, there have been "waves" previously but nothing of note caused it 100%. Turn off streetpass/spotpass and don't cheat online. You will be fine.

4. Depends on what you get banned for. There are three types of bans but more than likely if you DO get banned, it's only from online services and can be reversed with public seeds. If you cheat online, do certain things in MiiPlaza or play an unreleased game online you'll get a hyperban that bans both your console and your account, as well as restricting online services. All bans can be reversed (more or less) but it's better to stay safe.

5. It doesn't matter one way or the other.

6. BootNTR is a CFW overlay program for cheats,file redirection, screenshots etc, B9S is a bootrom hax exploit for installing an "always on" CFW like Luma, Cakes, Rei6 etc. You need B9S to use NTR.

7. Already answered sort of. Just be smart, and don't cheat online.
