Some of the videos look familiar. Guess that's to be expected though.
Looks like one of the assists will be replacing the star in this game. Might improve on it by not being usable for a limited time.

The star is still in the game, it was usable at all the demos. This invicible tanooki suit is most likely just the "interactive" super guide

So the assist just teleports you to the goal... but didn't they say that the levels were pretty easy? Well, at least you won't be stuck on a level for too long.

- die a few times and an Assist Block will appear
- these blocks offer up special items (i.e. Tanooki leaf)
- die five times and an invincible leaf will appear
- the invincible leaf gives you the Tanooki suit as well as star power
- P Wing block instantly transports Mario to the end of the stage

You know it would be nice to hear about things that make the game harder...
