I found this on another forum. Can't link it since its a warez forum.

    And here is said video.

It's a funny thing since it was rumored that instead of making a CFW 5.55/6.00, GEN was going to make an update to GEN-B so we can play 5.55 and 6.00 games. But we'll see what GEN has to say.

I'm more interested in knowing why he doesn't cover his MAC address like everyone else does in their PSP videos.

    He most likely doesn't care.

Why does he say ONLY the 2000's series? Can't the phat psps use it too?

This would be awesome, if it were true.

you can just change it with the various programs out there

people back in the day used to cover it but no need anymore

they originally thought that sony could track that number back to your PSP and ban it from online play (equivalent to a 360 system ban today) or just send a kill command since the custom firmware among other hacks violate their TOS and EULA that the person agreed to when they first started their PSP and installed any firmware on it there after...

It's probably not gonna be 5.50 GEN-D, more like 6.00, since well, 5.50 is outdated.

The first post say 5.50 Gen-D, but if they want to release a new cfw, it's gonna be 6.00.

Also, the guy who wrote the things said in the quotes is horrible in english.

Cause it was run through Google translations...and again, you didn't read the post. It's going to be released so it will have patches so we can play 5.55 and 6.00 games.

Theoretically yes, but if they broke the encryption to play 6.00 games, why not just release a 6.00 cfw? I could care less either way... just saying.

From my understanding, wouldn't the 6.0 CFW also allow the 5.50 games to be played? Seems like it would be best to focus on that.

Where was the confirmation that it is going to come out? I trust GEN more than anybody (cept M33, but they appear to be in limbo), and this would make my day.

For all the non information that can be surmised from 2 seconds of a video "D" could just stand for Developer. Woot a PSP scene guy has a firmware not intended for the general public...quel surprise!

...GEN wouldn't bother decrypting the 6.00 Firmware if they weren't planning to release a 6.00 custom firmware.

Probably because making a 6.0 CFW is far more complicated than turning the game decrypter into a plugin and including that in their CFW. Hopefully the new 5.50 GEN will make LEDA work as well.
