I have downloaded and installed every version of this game with and without patches, regular and complete edition ,us and euro versions, and no matter what I do weather I rip the disc myself, redownload to make sure it wasn’t curropted, initialize the ps4, restore Ps4, I cannot get this game to run. I have gotten as far as the 3rd quest and now it’s basiclly just unplayable with all the freezes and what not. Ive searched a around and find it has been a common problem but I’ve yet to find a solution, I really want to enjoy this game and the only other game I have this similar problem with is killzone and it’s funny that they are both made my guerilla except with killzone it always freezes as soon as I start a new game right at the picture of the planet. I am useing hen v1.8 and older just to see if that was maybe causing issues but it didn’t matter. Even tried non hdr and every kind of setting u could think of. I’m just reaching out hopefully somone can help, and the patch I used was the one that would come with the downloads 1.52 I belive it was

Horizon ran fine for me on OG 500gb 5.05 phat console, I haven’t played killzone though.

I would assume it’s a HDD issue, but
If it’s only those games, and no other games you have issues with, idk...

Edit: whoa check this “fix” I googled:

Here are the exact steps, as outlined by the representative.

    • After the game has crashed please restart your PS4.
    • After your PS4 has restarted, leave the Horizon Zero Dawn disc in the PS4 for 2 hours while the PS4 is powered on and idle.
    • Then start the game again.
“Please note that these steps may not solve the issue for all the users,” the representative added.

High chance the problem might be the Hard Drive, probably need a replacement, I had a similar problem back in 4.55 but with a 3.5 HDD, I would suggest trying another HDD first, also replace your thermal paste if you can.

I haven’t switched hard drives but I will try I did replace thermal paste with artic 5 and was thinking about getting that new IC Thermal pad that came out for gpu cpu and Apus https://www.amazon.com/Innovation-Cooling-Graphite-Thermal-Pad/dp/B07CKVW18G. Wondered if anyone’s has tried it before? But I’m definitely gonna try the he swap, and also what if I ran it from usb hdd?

just use the artic 5 thermal paste, don't use the thermal pad, not sure how the ps4 would react to it.

Probably still be a problem since the OS is on the internal HDD, I would get that fix first before using an external.

Works fine on external and internal hdd. Did it happen after you replaced the paste ? Maybe 2 much paste or not enough and if it isn't that it will mean the HDD is dying

Gosh eum let me think hmm well the only other thing i can think off besides your ps4 chip starting to crack is well maybe a faulty game update. Try to remove all updates and install it again and if it isn't that well hope for you your solder isn't starting to crack
