I've emailed simplisticmod@gmail.com and got to the mediafire account but there are two files, 42mod.zip and 42mod-fix.zip. Which one do I need?

I recently softmodded my Wii, it was running 4.2E and I used the normal one (not the one with fix in the name). Even if you using the 42mod-fix.zip file, it doesn't work.

Ok, I think I am ready to softmod my wii.

I have added Neogamma (channel + app) and the homebrew browser

    is this ok?

EDIT: also, do I need to get rid of any files once it is finished?

Forget all that, go get ModMii for Windows! [IMG] It does everything for you.

I'm not sure what the IOS WAD files in the root are, but if you're supposed to be installing them, they're supposed to be in the WAD folder. I believe the private folder is the hackmii installer if I'm correct, so you may want to rename or delete that if you want access to your SD card menu.

The ios wad files in the root are for the trucha bug. boot.elf is the hackmii installer, bannerbomb is in the private folder.

You folder structuring looks fine. But you can delete the files from the mod pack after you finish the last step. Then create an apps folder, and throw in the hb browser, neogamma and whatever other apps you want.
