4.70 REBUG (COBRA 7.10) to the latest 4.88.2 Evilnat?

Hi guys,

I'm helping my friend update this PS3 console. It's been a while since he's used it.

We just booted it up and discovered the system information (according to multiman) is:

PS3 System Firmware: 4.70
Firmware Mode: COBRA 7.10 Compatible

I'm not sure how old this firmware is but it's been a while since he's updated or messed around with his jailbreak. What would be the best route to update his PS3 to the latest 4.88.2 Evilnat? Would it be safe to just download the Evilnat update file and update over the top his current rebug firmware?

Also will this process involve needing to uninstall any of his game or will he lose any save data?

won't lose any data. just update the way you would normally but use evilnat's cfw. it's really that simple.
