A friend of mine is having difficulty rectifying a stupid mistake. So, let me detail where the system is currently at:

    4.2U system
    Softmodded with HackMii
    Then cioscorped (3.4)

Then the really dumb move, reformatted the wii memory, thus removing access to the HBC .

So, can't run HackMii anymore since there are no vulnerable ios's. In short, I'm looking for the best way to get the HBC back and to remove cioscorp (have shied away from the cioscorp uninstaller due to bricking possibilities).

Any help is appreciated... thanks in advance guys!

Thanks for the tip Dialexio... When using Dop-IOS, what ios should I be installing IOS61 from? And by non-patched i assume that you mean to not apply the signature hash check patch?

I feel like I have attempted this before to no avail. Thanks again though

You need to use any trucha signed IOS or a cIOS. If CIOSCORP is installed then IOS36 should be a safe pick.

Thanks BBking... unfortunately, DOP is now hanging when I go to load any IOS (249, 61, 36). Any clue why that might be happening?

Run TBR through bannerbomb, maybe and restore IOS36, trucha sgined?

I'm not saying this will work but you may get issues when you downgrade IOS15. I didn't have any problems when I downgraded IOS15 on a chrissy present and had to reboot.

could you run signcheck and post the log made here so that we could determine what ios we could use for you to recover?

btw place the boot.dol of signcheck at the root of your sd card and run it through bannerbomb.

i do not think he could do that. he could do that if cios249 is still present. but he said the wii was formatted. that is why i am asking him to run signcheck to see if cios250 is still there. if it is still there he could use it to reinstall cios249. after reinstalling cios249 he could use the cioscorp uninstaller.

Use DOP IOS and check to see if you have any IOSes with the Trucha bug - if you do, use WAD Manager 1.5 (booted via bannerbomb) to manually install the latest cIOS Corp version of IOS 36 - then using IOS 36 you will be able to install Waninkoko's cIOS normally, run the cIOS Corp uninstaller, and then run the installer for cIOS Corp 3.6.
You will also be able to reinstall the Homebrew Channel.

edit: you could also use NUS Downloader to download an older revision of IOS 36 that has the Trucha bug - WAD Manager will be able to install it off any IOS regardless of if it's Trucha bugged as it'll have a proper nintendo signature.

I'd suggest following razorback78's advice reinstall cios249 through bannerbomb. after reinstalling cios249 he could use the cioscorp uninstaller. and then run hackmii installer
