saw this on SC DS2 site
weird that happen to him
nintendo added brick code....THEY STOLE GATEWAYS CODE.......Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!
He must be trolling as it doesn't make sense, or maybe something went wrong in the middle of the update?
Edit: I read their messages better. Well, it's something really weird, but I guess it will be just an isolated case.
No doubt the spin doctors here will blame it on Gateway somehow.
error code....funny thing is, if he used a 3ds flash card he would be able to recover it
or just done a HW dump, looks like he will have to just pay nintendo to reflash it
Updated both redNAND and sysNAND on my XL. Works fine. The update is just one little file (no idea, why they make a update for 1 file).
by 1st gen they mean launch models or any regular 3DS model? Is there even any difference between them?
Just because a couple of persons had their 3DSes bricked, it doesn't mean the latest firmware is unstable. AFAIK, a 3ds can also brick if it is turned off or run out of battery during the firmware update,
I would wait for more reports on this to give some credibility to this news.
EDIT: Btw, using latest firmware and my 3ds is working fine
I can only think 1st gen mean regular 3DS or ambassador 3DS.
hmm well i was able to update without a problem
