Hardware 3DS shutting off when closing hinge.

I was wondering if anybody had the problem of their unit shutting off and having the date and time setting cleared when the close up their 3DS? It makes a popping sound before the screen and the blue LED disappears. Any solutions to this problem?

Sounds like a problem with the LCD ribbon cable. If the connection is dodgy the 3DS will shut off.

well, i just opened it up, unplugged the ribbon cable and reconnected it. I'll see how it goes.

EDIT: Nope, still no go. I get the same problems.
