Hacking 3ds Sd card is gone, how do I prepare new one?

Can someone eli5 what to do now?

Appearently I got B9S

All I want to do is maintain my CFW I do not want to rescue any game save data or anything like that, just a fresh start while maintaining my cfw.



Just found an backup to my 3ds sd card. But have no idea if its a backup before I updated to B9S how do I find that out?

Just start from scratch with the SD card, and do this, and have the Luma3DS 9.1 boot.firm on the sd card also.

To check the backup: Copy boot.firm and only boot.firm to an empty FAT32 formatted SD. If it is a B9S compatible build of Luma (≥ 8.0) the settings will pop up.

Restoring the SD:/Nintendo 3DS/ folder should work in any case.
Games with anti-cheat /anti-save restore might complain and erase their saves. Restoring existing backups with JKSM/Checkpoint is possible.

If the backup is outdated (Luma < 9.1), replacing boot.firm is mandatory, but you might actually want to setup the cfw/homebrew files from scratch:
If you're lazy, get the CFW starter kit (contains all files you need and probably more) from this post and then repeat the finalizing setup from the guide (which will reinstall missing homebrew titles or update them).

One thing I didn't get the [essential.exefs] file that guide mentions. I hope it's not that important.

I (kinda) accidentally installed every single cia in your cfw starter pack.

Is there any apps that essential for cfw, that I should totally keep it? (besides luma updater, homebrew launcher and fbi)

Although I host that archive with implied permission that the devs are cool and chill about sharing their works, I don't like stating that starter kit as mine as it collectively belongs to the 3DS homebrew community. Oh wow, I didn't even say what's up in this thread and that kit made its way to you. lol.

What you consider important is preferential. For titles found on HOME Menu, you'll have to meticulously pick and choose which titles to keep or delete:

• FBI → Titles → Homebrew → Delete Title And Ticket

Before deleting them, why not look in the Update Changes Log from that thread you found it and see/learn which ones pique your interests? Check out their mixtapes!

Thanks, I've checked them. Kept some of the tools and emulators deleted some of them.

Definitely kept FBI and Homebrew.
