The guy in gamestation said a surprise comes with 3DS but they aren't allowed to say because it's not yet been announced.

If you have some spare time please do battery life tests, 3D on/off, wi-fi and so forth.
Is it true that SSFIV have static images in the background?
If it has it probably is due to storage and hardware limitations, 2 GB is not enough to hold characters, video, music and backgrounds etc.

LOL, there are so many 3DSs on eBay already - highest price I've seen - $579.99! Let's hope DSi mode isn't region-locked.
Can you try a DSi mode flashcart asap? I think some of us are going to have a seizure if we don't find out soon
