Hmm, I did that earlier. it does not boot into CFW anymore, but I am not able to boot up without the SD-card and therefore I am not sure how I am ever going to be able to remove the emunand partion and be "free" of CFW.

could I just reset to factory settings in sysnNAND or something?
Did you see what I added on after? With a9lh, you need cfw and a sd card. That's a given. What you don't need is emunand which you can get rid of. Don't factory reset. That's waste of time.

yes, I saw it right after I posted. :) how is it a waste of time? I need to get back to scratch - wouldn't a factory reset do that?

Yes, but you don't need to factory reset to get rid of emunand. Actually, that won't even get rid of emunand. Before you get rid of emunand however, you should probably copy everything over from emunand to sysnand if it was your main. Use this guide (I'm sure you're familiar with it), go to part 5, choose setting up aureinand, and go to the part that talks about copying rednand data to sysnand.

just a question regarding this step.

Copying RedNAND data to SysNAND
  1. Go to "SysNAND Options"
  2. Go to "SysNAND Backup/Restore..."
  3. Select "NAND Restore (keep a9lh)"
  4. Confirm and restore from emuNAND_original.bin
I mistakenly selected NAND Restore ONLY without the option to keep a9lh. and i can no longer launch browserhax since after restarting the system is already on 10.7.. How should I proceed?

My O3DS won't load my Smash 4 3DS cart and gives me a black screen on SysNAND. While on EmuNAND it runs and has loaded my personal data. What's going on?

I haven't encountered this scenario personally, but I think you need to downgrade to 9.2 and reinstall A9lh again.

Just to make sure I'm not wrong, try launching an unsigned cia (i.e. FBI). If it won't launch, you'll need to downgrade.

I'm just new with this new 3ds and I already spent a day doing this. Do you have a noob link on how to downgrade from 10.7 to 9.2? Thanks in advance Bob

something like plailect's guide, which is easier to understand would be nice

Plailect's guide actually has a section on downgrading here. Unfortunately because you're on 10.7, I think you'll need to use Cubic Ninja, Ocarina of Time or Smash (or the new game that Smea found an exploit in. He hasn't announced what the game is yet though) to launch the Homebrew Launcher.

thanks again bob. I've actually followed plailect's guide from 1-5 except from the part from my first question. I think I'll just get myself a sky3ds+ and save myself from all the headaches and trouble of looking for ways to run cfw on my system. Sadly I'm not planning on spending more with a flashcart but it seems that way.

You can use the Sky3DS(+) to install Cubic Ninja, and install Ninjhax through it as well if you wanted to. Sorry about your luck!

If it is stuck on the Nintendo 3DS screen (black with the pulsing red bits) then your sysNAND might be on too low of a firmware. I think it requires 8.1 but not certain.

No pulsing red bits. Just a darken, lit screen with black pixels. Nothing prompts and trying to use the HOME button isn't responsive. It's as if running the cart through SysNAND bugs it out.

That's really weird! I suspect it has something to do with the way the O3DS has to restart after quitting Smash (even though it's when you start it up), especially if other normal 3DS cartridges work on sysNAND. Hopefully someone can help! Try to feel special at having a unique problem instead of bummed out that it'll be harder to fix :-)

its like 3 am so I might have just missed the answer to this
So there is no way to just install a ds game as a cia to the 3ds or like an emulator for those games right? And no way to convert like pokemon pearl for example to dsiware. Can I use a ds r4 card in the 3ds? Ive seen people saying just inserting one into the system like any other ds cart will bring up an error or whatever but since Ive got cfw is there a work around? Or were those just like old post or something and its been corrected nowadays

Currently there is no way to install a DS game to a 3DS. This may change in the future though.

You can use a DS flashcart on the 3DS. Not all flashcarts are supported though. I know that the R4i 3DS RTS, R4i Gold and DSTWO work though. There is also a homebrew app here that makes some more flashcarts work with the 3DS.

Using DS software on an O3DS using the MSET exploit would cause the exploit to be reset. This isn't an issue anymore since there are new, better exploits. DS games also don't work on some CFWs. I see in your signature that you're using Cakes though, which can run DS software fine.

I'm presently using Cakes FW. I'd like to have region free, which I assume should best be done with FreemultiPatcher. If Cakes FW implements an on board region free patcher in future versions, will these conflict?

Nope, they won't conflict if Cakes releases a built in region free patch. FreeMultiPatcher needs to be run every time you boot the 3DS, so unless you run it after booting the 3DS, it won't affect anything.
