Can I set up the Ocarina of Time hack on an Old 3DS and use the cartridge on a New 3DS to gain access to homebrew? I don't really know how this works, so any advice you can provide would help out a lot!

Yes, just choose the firmware that the new 3ds has, in the options of the OoThax installer in the homebrew menu.

I've completed the whole process described on Plailect's wonderful guide. Everything went great and I can play 3DS games, but virtual console games, like Pokemon Yellow, just don't seem to load, and my console is stuck in an endless loop while showing "Nintendo 3DS" on a black screen with red waves moving.

I've tried different .cia sources with same result, so I assume I have a problem with virtual console games.

Could somebody help me?

i still cant run rxtools from menuhax.

even used the nightly release, placed rxtools as boot.3dsx but it says "failed to load the payload..." i placed.
What can i do?

i would run it from the browser but its blocked (asks for update)

Maybe try redownloading the rxTools files, because being stuck on a red screen is a symptom of not having a valid boot.3dsx file.

Delete them from software management and redownload from the eShop. This is a known problem, it seems to affect all legit CIA games dumped from high firmware consoles (allowed with access discovered on 10.3)

Could someone please help me install Decrypt9? I have a new3DS on Reinand 9.5u
I got the Homebrew Launcher as a CIA that I can install in Emunand but Decrypt9 says
it needs to run from Sysnand so how do I do it?

OMG, that worked!

But how can I download them from the eShop? I have never bought them, just installed the .cia. Does the .cia installation also affect the eShop?

So I was trying to mess with my EULA settings so I can play games from other regions online. So I tried installing Config.cia. Used FBI now, seems to work fine. What didn't work fine was when I firstly tried to install it using Dev Menu which, although it said that the import was complete, did nothing but to create a black icon in home menu which freezes on the 3DS logo when I boot it up. Probably not a very serious problem, but is there anyway to get rid of that icon without formatting the whole SD card? Uninstalling it from the system settings doesn't seem to work as it doesn't recognize it.

I think ive set up CFW properly as ive used emunand9 to set up emunand partition and ive put all the relevant cfw files onto my sd card (eg. reinand: reinand.dat, rei folder, rei 3ds folder, to have aureinand I just copy aureinand files over rei files). Is this just poor boot rate or did I mess up in my cfw install??

I'm just using ReiNAND and it seems to have a pretty poor boot rate - keep trying. For me it seems like the first time I boot it up on a given day is the worst and it usually gets better during the day. This doesn't make any sense to me at all though..

I'll wait for Quantum cat to respond, because I'd like to know too. I can rarely boot into ReiNAND from HBL (although it has worked) and it probably takes me 3-4 attempts to coldboot into ReiNAND successfully. I seem to have slightly better luck if I press A right away versus letting it autoboot.

Let me explain : I have a bunch of Old and New 3DS but almost of them are limited edition : I've found a O3DS XL New Super Mario Bros 2 Edition, really nice for a really cheap price. But my main and maybe only problem with hacking this one is that I'd like to keep the game for me in my SysNand. I'm thinking about doing a e-shop account and be able to redowload it or something ? I didn't really use it (bought one week ago) and i'm waiting in order to use it the best way as possible.

And second thing, i've a O3DS with rxtools. But an OLD rxtools (like 2.X version, the stopped one so), and I didn't really want to upload it because i did it one year ago and i was quite happy with the result. But now i'm thinking what should I do : Format the SD card (so loosing the SysNand data and the emuNand itself, but it's not a problem, I can dump the saves files of my games and do everything again) and searching to put the last rxtools thing OR to follow this : https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki in order to have a full control ? Because new super mario bros is a legit cia (game preinstalled onto 3ds it can be downloaded as a cia and installed to any 3ds) so if you ever need a copy you can download the legit cia of the game for your region and install it using NASA as long as your firmware allows it.

Im also trying to get CFW access and its probably FW dependent from what I seem to notice so far. So for me it seems rxtools 2.6 works a decent amount of the time on 9.2. Im trying to see if the boot rate increases once i update nands from 9.2. Going through the steps to get arm9lh right now and im currently updating emunand via rxtools

You could always make a sysnand backup if youre on 9.2 or less, that way you will always have a hackable fw + your preinstalled game

Im not sure why youd want to inject your sysnand again though? If you set up emunand you already have a copy of your game on it. If theres ever a problem and you want to restore your 3ds to a clean state then you can inject your backup copy of sysnand and youll still have your game

gave me a doubt about that that's why i've made a huge mistake.

Dont worry if theres a problem there will be someone on gbatemp willing to help. Do you have a sysnand backup? If you do then there is absolutely no problem. You can format your sysnand to unlink nands and your game will still be available on emunand. If you ever want to go back you can use your nand.bin and decrypt9/emunand9 to restore it

I'm pretty sure the game is tied to your actual system. I just downgraded a Pokemon N3DS and I was still able to redownload Red and Blue from the eShop no problem. sysNAND is pretty much not used after creating an emuNAND. You may need it for DSiWare and GBA VC games, but that's it.
