got a question
how do you set theme in linked emunand and homemenuhax?
you cannot change theme normally or else homemenuhax will no longer working
homemenuhax provides a way to change theme but it's only affect sysnand
so now I end up with theme for sysnand but no theme for emunand

How do you set a theme in linked NANDs? You don't.

Can someone please explain how the eshop works, I am on 10.6 with Rxtools CFW and can't remember the explanation how to access it.

Also can I use it for game updates or do I have to download these as cia?

Can I set up the Ocarina of Time hack on an Old 3DS and use the cartridge on a New 3DS to gain access to homebrew? I don't really know how this works, so any advice you can provide would help out a lot!

Hi,

I've been following this guide (https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki) until part 5 and got really confused.

I thought that the safest thing we could do is let SysNAND as it is and use EmuNAND for everything, because if something would go wrong in EmuNAND you could even create a new EmuNAND from zero. This guide, however, says this:

"This guide uses "Updated SysNAND" mode, in which we copy our EmuNAND to SysNAND (to keep games and such) and install arm9loaderhax to have permanant SysNAND hax with no EmuNAND required at all."

This made me feel uneasy, and the most probable cause is my lack of knowledge. What do you guys think about this?

Okay, I am following Plailect's wonderful guide , but I have a question:

Before I started part 1, I copied the data off of my SD card and reformatted it to start fresh and make sure I had space for everything (using the tool and settings mentioned in Get Started of the guide). I kept the original data off while going through the steps.

I've now finished part 3 without problems, and at the beginning of part 4 it mentions that it's a good time to backup saves. What saves should I back up, why is this necessary, and is there anything I need to get out of the original SD card dump? Looking at the folders in the backup and on the current SD card briefly, I notice that some folder names / IDs are different in the "Nintendo 3DS" folder.

I also had some retail eShop and other games installed, and played streetpass games, etc. How much of this was on the SD card, and can I restore this / do I need to?

Do all saves need to be backed up using a save data manager and then restored once everything is set up? (For instance, if the saves are linked to a specific system ID that changes somewhere).

Thanks!

I'm following the same guide. Currently at Part 5.

I did yesterday part 4 and I don't recall the part where he states that about backing up your saves.

As far as I'm concerned, at the end of the tutorial we will end up with a SysNAND with all the previous games, saves and linked NNID we originally have.

By backing up the Nintendo 3DS folder, you will be backing everything up. Your saves will all work because you will be restoring using a nand backup of of that version so nothing should change.

Inside the rxTools download there should be a "ninjhax" folder. Go inside there, and then inside the "rxTools" folder. There should be a file called "rxTools.3dsx." Copy this file to the root of your SD card. Rename "boot.3dsx" to something else such as "bootHBL.3dsx." Rename "rxTools.3dsx" to "boot.3dsx." After that, you should be able to launch rxTools via Menuhax.
im doing as you say but im stuck on a red screen when i put the sdcard on my 3ds

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

i still cant run rxtools from menuhax.

even used the nightly release, placed rxtools as boot.3dsx but it says "failed to load the payload..." i placed.
What can i do?

i would run it from the browser but its blocked (asks for update)
