My enunand is on 10.6.I was asking if I can update the Sysnand to 10.5 as I don't seem to care for CFW. I wanted to go back to being able to hex edit Fates as svdt doesn't seem to work anymore.
I also wanted to make sure my NIND will be there if I update my Sysnand.

If you don't care about CFW? Why not just update to 10.6 then?

Ok Im in the process of downgrading but need a little help. Using the following tut

I used this one, and most of the files from there except the firmwares which I got on "that" 3DS site. Pretty much step by step, and I am currently about to finish Part 3 (about EmuNAND) and reading up on the next parts (OTP, then AL9H). Take note, I was on 10.3 when I attempted this a while ago. Now have sysNAND on 9.2 and emuNAND on 10.6.

Ok so Im trying to run sysUpdater but nothing happens after I press it. I added it to the /3ds/ & nothing. Then I made a sysUpdater folder in the /3ds & added the files in there & same thing. Can someone help me. I want to downgrade before I go to work.

EDIT: don't know what happen but now it says the sd card is protected & I don't know how to fix this so I can reformat the card & try the process again from the beginning.

Yes 10.6 blocks MenuHax, but you can use NinjHax, OoTHax, or SmashHax for N3DS.

You can't use 3DNUS because that's for CFW users.

Just downgraded my o3ds XL to 9.2, but now I can't load homebred launcher through browserhax, because explorer always crashes (no orange screen, it crashes before any color appears).

I've tried updating the payload, but this didn't fix it either.

You first have to system format your emunand. It's like the same way you'd do a system format in Sysnand, but in Emunand.

Then you can update your Sysnand and then try to get homebrew.

Yes, on Emunand, you'd go to system settings, confirm that you're in emunand, then format it.

If you update without system formatting on emunand, you'll lose access to your NNID.

I am stuck at 10.6 at the moment with no cubic or other way of running the homebrew launcher until browser hax is updated but anyway here goes my question..

If i understand correctly from all tutorials i need to do the following.

1. Use a hax method for running the HBL
2. Install Menuhax
3. Downgrade to 9.2
4. Install emunand and rxtools
5. Install a cia launcher

enjoy ?

EmuNAND can be updated. If you're using CFW, you can update Emunand to 10.6, Gateway users can also update to 10.6. However, this removes browserhax on emunand. SysNAND can stay on 9.2 and you can still access the HBL with browserhax. If you're smart you either install the HBL cia on your emunand or use a boot manager (I use CtrBootManager) to boot into different boot files (In my case, ReiNAND and Homebrew).

Handy dandy tip: Do not unmount your SD card too often if you use N3DS, as the screws might get a bit loose. You can either use MicroSD management settings in system settings, which connects your device to your (wifi) network and you'll be able to see it on your computer. Copy multiple cia files over so you don't have to keep switching. You can install as many as you want, as long is your SD card isn't full. You need to have at least twice the space for one cia. For example: You have cia file that is 1,5GB. You need to have at least 3GB of space to install that, because the cia file is stored on your SD card (1,5GB) and installs the same files on your emunand (another 1,5GB). I suggest using 32GB or 64GB cards in your 3DS. You can remove the .cia files once they're installed and you see them on your home menu. Also, FBI has a handy trick: you can install all cia's in a certain folder. You need to select the folder and press a button (don't recall exactly, but it'll tell you on screen) and it will go and do everything, so you don't have to manually select every one and wait for them to be ready to continue, FBI will continue when it's ready. This is especially handy when you have some big games, you can leave them for an hour and come back to see your big games installed

I can't boot HBL atm. Also, I think I can't install emunand until accessing to hbl
